Annual meeting 2017 of Afrique One-ASPIRE

Date: 10th to 23rd September 2017 Event Place: Arusha, Tanzania

The annual meeting of Afrique One-ASPIRE will be held in Arusha, Tanzania, from 10th to 23rd September 2017. The host institution is the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) in Arusha. This annual meeting comprises three parts: the summer school, the meeting of the five Thematic Training Programmes (TTP) with the presentation of fellows’ proposals and the management board meeting.

The summer school will start the 10th and will focus on four main thematic areas: (i) One health; (ii) Integrated research design (qualitative and quantitative methods, transdisciplinary research); and (iii) Research management (project and budget management, partnership principles, institutional rules), and (iv) Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

From 19th to 21st September 2017, each TTP will report on progress made and fellows will present their research protocols. Principal Investigators, training facilitators and members of the Scientific Advisory Board are invited to provide feedback.

The management board meeting will be held on two days, on 21st and 22nd September 2017. It will reflect on the progress of the programme implementation and discusses training, supervision, reporting and research management. The management board meeting will also be a good occasion to plan the 2nd year of Afrique One-ASPIRE.
