BASSIROU BONFOH

Presentation:

Epidemiologist-vet, Director General of the Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques en Côte d’Ivoire (CSRS) and Director of the Consortium Afrique One. He was program coordinator veterinarians Without Borders in Africa Western and post-doc researcher in epidemiology at the Polytechnic Federal Zurich. With his research, he contributed the proof of concept “One Health” in programs the fight against zoonosis. Bassirou Bonfoh has a wide consulting experience with several governments and international organizations.

SAYOKI MFINANGA

Institution: National institute for Medical Research (NIMR) in Tanzania

Presentation:

Dr. Mfinanga is the Deputy Director for Afrique One-ASPIRE consortium. He is employed by the National institute for Medical Research (NIMR), at level of Chief Research Scientist. Dr. Mfinanga is a public health and clinical research consultant with 104 publications in peer-reviewed journals, and has 20 years of experience in research. In 2015, Dr. Mfinanga received NIMR’s Best Journal Publishing Scientist Award. He is the Centre Director for NIMR, Muhimbili Medical Research Centre.

KATHRIN HEITZ-TOKPA

Institution: Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques (CSRS) in Côte d’Ivoire

Presentation:

Program Manager of Afrique One-ASPIRE. She has a PhD in social anthropology from the University of Basel, Switzerland. She is associate researcher at the Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques in Côte d’Ivoire (CSRS) and a postdoctoral research fellow at the Institute of Cultural and Social Anthropology, Freiburg University in Germany. She currently works on the role of state boundaries in the fight against epidemics.

KARIM OUATTARA

Institution: Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques (CSRS) in Côte d’Ivoire

Presentation:

Senior lecturer at University of Félix Houphouët-Boigny (UFHB) in Côte d’Ivoire and associate researcher at Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques en Côte d’Ivoire. In 2009, he received a PhD in Biology from UFHB and a PhD in Psychology (Ethology-cognition) from University of Rennes in France. He was the coordinator of the Afrique One consortium for five years. Since July 2016, he works as senior assistant of Monitoring and Evaluation in Afrique One-ASPIRE. His research was published in Nature, PNAS and PLOS.

BERNARD NGOWI

Institution: National institute for Medical Research (NIMR) in Tanzania

Presentation:

Bernard Ngowi MD, PhD is postdoctoral assistant of Monitoring and Evaluation in the consortium of Afrique One-ASPIRE. He is an epidemiologist and a public health specialist, with longstanding experience in HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and health system research. Dr. Ngowi is part of the DFG funded study on neurocysticercosis (NCC), BMBF funded project on One Health CYSTINET Africa and EDCTP funded projects on Neglected diseases SOLID. He is also a member of the East African Consortium for Clinical Research.

KATHARINA KREPPEL

Institution: Ifakara Health Institute

Presentation:

Dr. Katharina Kreppel is in charge of the Afrique One-ASPIRE training within the eastern Africa. She is a Tanzania-based vector ecologist at the Ifakara Health Institute (IHI). She has 5 years’ experience of field-based research on malaria vector ecology in collaboration with IHI while affiliated with the University of Glasgow, UK. This was preceded by 4 years’ field-based research on the effects of climate on plague in Madagascar in collaboration with the Institute Pasteur de Madagascar. Her interests are ecology and epidemiology of vector borne diseases, particularly malaria.

CONSTANT AHOUA

Phytochemist, Ethnobotanist and Botanist, Dr Constant Ahoua supports the Coordination Team and the Training Unit. He is also, associated researcher at Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques en Côte d’Ivoire.

IBRAHIM DOUKOURE

Institution: Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques (CSRS) in Côte d’Ivoire

Presentation:

Senior Accountant in charge of Afrique One-ASPIRE. He has several years of experience in account management of research programs at Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques in Côte d’Ivoire. Up to date, he has been in charge of over a dozen programs and major research projects. In January 2015, he was nominated Chief of the service ‘Accounting and Cash Management’ at the CSRS.

Lisette Anoh-Affanou, is the Communications Officer for Afrique One-ASPIRE. She is based at the Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques (CSRS) in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire. Lisette Anoh-Affanou is passionate about digital and social media.
She has been working in the communication field for 5 years now after graduating in journalism at Studio Mozaik, media academy.
