11TH SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE OF THE TANZANIA WILDLIFE RESEARCH INSTITUTE (TAWIRI)- ANNOUNCEMENT
This to inform researchers, Management authorities, conservation Non-Governmental Organizations, donors, and the general public that the 11th Scientific Conference of the Tanzania Wildlife Research Institute (TAWIRI) will be held from 6-8 December 2017 in Arusha, Tanzania. The theme of the conference is “People, Livestock and Climate change: Challenges for sustainable biodiversity conservation”. This theme has been especially chosen due to increasing threat of increasing human population, livestock grazing in protected areas as well as climate change on biodiversity conservation in Tanzania and globally. We are also inviting applications for symposiums or workshops as parallel sessions during the scientific conference. The following are the main conference sub-themes:-
- Impact of livestock grazing, human population and climate change on biodiversity conservation and ecosystem services
- Wildlife ecology and ecological interactions
- Wetland and water resources management
- Wildlife diseases and ecosystem health
- Beekeeping development, technology and innovation
