Dr N’KRUMAH Tanoh ASR holds a Diploma of Advanced Study in Public Health and a PhD in Tropical Human Biology, specializing in epidemiology, from the University of Félix Houphouët Boigny in Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire). As expert on Buruli ulcer and neglected tropical wounds, Dr Tanoh has extensive experience in epidemiological survey design, data management and analysis.

Dr. Mensah obtained her BSc in Biological Sciences from KNUST and an MPhil in Animal Science (Microbiology and Immunology) from the University of Ghana. In 2014, she was awarded a PhD in Medical Research-International Health from the Ludwig Maximillians University (CIHLMU) in Munich-Germany. For her PhD studies, Dr. Mensah assessed the immunological profiles of Ghanaian TB patients in response to differentially expressed MTB proteins and how these could be exploited as biomarkers for TB.

Dr. Zac Mtema is a senior research scientist at IHI, a computer scientist, and  and epidemiologist. Dr. Mtema is a 2016 UK Guardian university awards winner for outstanding Mobile phone-based surveillance system for infectious disease elimination in Africa. 

Zac completed his Ph.D. at University of Glasgow, and his MSc studies at Durham University UK. His research interests lie in the area of mobile computing technologies for public health. Dr Mtema lives in Dar es Salaam, Tz with his family. 

Houngbedji Clarisse is associated researcher at the Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques en Côte d’Ivoire. Biologist and epidemiologist by training including Biostatistics, she led a PhD on the spatial epidemiology of Plasmodium falciparum among school children in Côte d’Ivoire including Bayesian-based geostatistical risk mapping of the infection. she also has vast experience in leading cross sectional surveys ranging from data collection, data management, analysis and publications writing.

Dr. Fayiz Abakar is an epidemiologist and public health specialist (MSc and PhD) trained at Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH), University of Basel, (Switzerland). He belongs to a research group that has been working since almost twenty years in Chad on improving health care for mobile pastoralists and local communities. Fayiz has conducted several research activities in health system, including studies on the effectiveness and equity of health interventions and the capacity of health systems to provide adequate health services to rural agro-pastoralist communities in developing countries, particularly in Africa, within “One Health” context.

His doctoral thesis focused on the establishment of a new integrated surveillance system for human and animal health that could better address the risks of endemic, emergent and re-emerging diseases in Africa. Currently he is implementing this innovative approach of health surveillance-response on a small-scale in Chad within a framework of postdoctoral research (www.afriqueoneaspire.org).

In addition to that, Fayiz gained extensive experience of many years working in a veterinary and public health research institute in Chad focusing on zoonotic diseases. He is also an expert in biosafety and biosecurity and he is the current Vice-President of the African Biological Safety Association (AfBSA: www.afbsa.org).

Richard B Yapi is an epidemiologist from the University Félix Houphouët-Boigny, Côte d’Ivoire. During the past 10 years, he has been active in the design, planning and execution of multidisciplinary epidemiologic cross-sectional and cohort surveys in rural and urban areas of Côte d’Ivoire, with particular emphasis on malaria and neglected tropical diseases.
