Physical activity and micronutrient supplementation

The project supported by the Fondation Botnar about ‘Physical activity and micronutrient supplementation’ which will be carried out at the Taabo Health and Demographic Surveillance System site in Côte d’Ivoire was initiated by researchers from Swiss TPH, the Life Sciences School  of Nelson Mandela University (South Africa), the Ifakara Health Institute (Tanzania) and the Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques en Côte d’Ivoire (Côte d’Ivoire).

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of a combined intervention in primary schools. The study will provide a comprehensive update on micronutrient deficiencies, inflammatory and cardiovascular risk markers and communicable diseases of primary school children.
